Top 10 Tips to Learn Digital Photography

Experiment: Almost nothing better than practice, and taking photographs with a digital camaera is cheaper than film ever was.
Show your work to friends, family. Take their words with a grain of salt. Some will try to provide advice (some good, some bad). Either way, you will learn something from the photographs they enjoy and which one's they don't.
Do not spend too much money on your first camera, chances are photography will be a passing fad. However, for those of you where the passion endures you will always be able to upgrade or buy additional cameras.
Go somewhere you have been a dozen times and look for things to photograph. This location does not have to be large but is better if something smaller
Go somewhere you have never been and take lots of photographs.
Come back at different times in the day.
People photography - take some natural (best if they don't know they are being photographed), some with deliberate posing.
Pick up some of the photography magazines and find some photographs you really like. Try to take similar photographs. Sure, some of the scenic pictures can only be taken one place in the world, but try to look at the photograph to see what makes the photo (e.g. light, composure, story, etc...) and use those basic elements. You will be surprised how close you can come.
